Computer Recommendations
The College of Engineering requires that students have access to a laptop during their study at Mizzou. All laptops should have MS Office 365 ProPlus (provided by DolT for free), and basic antivirus software.
Several engineering departments have access to Microsoft Imagine and VMWare Academy, which provides development and virtualization software for free to all students who take at least one credit hour from those departments. During their first year, students discuss with their advisor to understand the exact software requirements for their academic program, which are listed below. Please wait to purchase software until your course instructor requires you to do so. Some software is available in the College of Engineering computer labs.
The below lists indicate operating system, software and preferences by academic program. Always consult with your academic advisor before making any purchases.
