
E-Week co-chairs talk events, memories and what’s new for 2023
E-Week is organized by St. Pat’s Board, which is chaired this year by Lane Atchison and Kate Sherard. We asked them to tell us a little about themselves and what the College can expect during 2023 E-Week: Pat to the Future.

St. Pat’s Board: Working Hard to Have Fun
Mizzou engineering students, staff and faculty are gearing up for all of the fun events and activities slated for Engineers’ Week March 6 – 14, the culmination of more than six months of research and planning by members of the Engineers’ Club-St. Pat’s Board.

Renovating History: Shamrock Plaza and Medallion Reconstruction Underway
On October 19, the shamrock was removed and the concrete around it was demolished as part of the first phase of a reconstruction project. Steve Borgelt, a Chancellor’s Professor in the Department of Biomedical, Biological and Chemical Engineering, says he decided about three years ago that the Shamrock Plaza and Medallion, which was constructed in 1921, needed to be renovated to match the well-maintained appearance of the historic buildings that surround Francis Quadrangle.

Recent Engineering alum Hagan pays it forward
Kyle Hagan wanted to pay it forward. The MU Engineering alum graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering, and thanks to scholarship support, was able to do so without student loan debt. Since landing a job with Boeing, he has worked to help other students the way others helped him.
