Krishnaswamy earns CAREER Award for taking on the challenge of hidden hunger

More than 2 billion people suffer from hidden hunger, a form of malnutrition where individuals lack essential micronutrients — like vitamins and minerals — even though they consume what appears to be an adequate amount of calories. University of Missouri researcher Kiruba Krishnaswamy is focused on tackling this global challenge. She recently received a five-year, $532,000 Early Career Development (CAREER) award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) — the NSF’s most prestigious award for early-career faculty — in support of her project titled “FEAST (food ecosystems and circularity for sustainable transformation) framework to address hidden hunger.”

Two Mizzou Engineers earned honors at an international exhibition in New Orleans in March. The awards were given at the 2024 International Association for Dental Research (IADR) General Session and Exhibition, which was held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR).

Jeff Haferkamp receives the James E. “Bud” Moulder Distinguished Alumni Award with Interim Dean Praveen Edara and President Choi. Jeff Haferkamp, B.S. ISE ’76, was honored with a James E. “Bud” Moulder Distinguished Alumni Award at Mizzou Engineering’s 2024 Awards Banquet on March 15. The award recognizes individuals who distinguish themselves in service to the College. Haferkamp has been a longtime supporter of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Rollins receives MUEAO Citation of Merit Award for service to College, profession

Myron Rollins receives the MUEAO Citation of Merit Award with Interim Dean Praveen Edara and President Choi Myron Rollins, B.S. EE ’74, was honored with the Citation of Merit Award at Mizzou Engineering’s annual Award Banquet March 15. Engineering student takes first at IISE Regional Conference Paper Competition

A Mizzou Engineering student took first place in the Paper Competition at the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers South Central Regional Conference, held Feb. 29-March 2 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Ray Wood, a master’s student in industrial engineering, presented a use-inspired workforce optimizing and process to solve problems manufacturers face when using sustainable materials.
