Beginning a new chapter: Blake Miller earns degree in information technology

Blake Miller, originally from Pana, Illinois, chose to come to Mizzou because of its rich history and diverse opportunities that aligned perfectly with his academic and personal goals. He saw the growth of digital technology and its increasing significance to everyday life and realized that expertise in information technology is not just a career choice, but is a necessary skill set in the modern world.

Mizzou alumna uses web design expertise to give back to engineering, community

Erica Martin, BS CS/IT ’08, has had a whirlwind couple of years. Her business, Pixel Jam Digital, celebrated its fifth anniversary this summer with a current roster of roughly 100 clients from across the globe seeking website and digital design services. Last year, she launched an online database of medical, social and other resources. And she’s been to a few awards ceremonies — Pixel Jam Digital was named a Columbia Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year finalist this summer, and — much to her delight — Martin received the “Nerd of the Year” award from a local non-profit.

Information technology students create Mizzou trivia game for capstone project

Information technology students at Mizzou this semester developed a single-player trivia game centered around Mizzou’s historic columns. The project was one of many created by IT students in their capstone course, a class that wraps up students’ degrees and prepares them for the life of an IT professional.

Mizzou Engineering confers more than 400 degrees at Spring Commencement

More than 400 students graduated from Mizzou Engineering this past weekend, the largest class since 2019. Roseanna N. Zia, Associate Dean of Research and Wollersheim Professor, joined UM President Mun Choi to confer degrees at the Sunday, May 14, ceremony at Mizzou Arena.

Each spring, Mizzou Engineering students bury their heads in coursework, try to enjoy the gorgeous weather and think about the exciting experiences that summer brings. For graduates, that routine changes as they look to their future careers, graduate school and new adventures.
