Getting to Know Mizzou Engineering

From lectures and labs to clubs and study abroad programs, Introduction to Engineering (ENGINR 1000) helps new students learn about everything Mizzou Engineering has to offer. The primary goal of this class, which is offered each fall, is designed for those interested in pursuing an engineering degree but not sure which field to pursue. Seniors in the Information Technology program at Mizzou conclude their coursework with a capstone project. Through these projects, they apply what they’ve learned in their classes to create a product, such as a mobile app or video game, that solves a real-world problem or applies emerging technologies in creative ways.

CAVE to Provide Immersive Virtual Experience

Imagine studying a protein by walking through its three-dimensional structure. Or researching traffic patterns by standing alongside a virtual highway. Or safely exploring the structural integrity of a house while it’s on fire. Mizzou Engineers will soon have the capability to do these things, thanks to a CAVE opening this year in Lafferre Hall.

Mizzou NSBE Named Top Chapter, Again

The Mizzou chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) continued to garner accolades at the Region 5 Fall Conference in St. Louis Oct. 24-27. For the fifth year in a row, the Mizzou NSBE chapter was selected as the ‘Missouri Zone Most Outstanding Chapter,’ encompassing Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and North and South Dakota.
