Didn’t receive an NROTC Scholarship?

Those not selected for the NROTC National Scholarship still have two options available to them: the NROTC Preparatory Program and the College Program.

NROTC Preparatory Program

NROTC Preparatory Scholarships provide interested high school students, who show great potential via grades, character, and extra-curricular activities but might lack standardized test scores or advanced high school courses a unique opportunity to earn a commission in the United States Navy by providing an additional preparatory year.

During the preparatory year, students will receive:

  • Full-year scholarship, including room and board
  • Books and fees covered
  • Academic mentoring and advising
  • Focused educational skills courses

A four-year National Scholarship is reserved at Mizzou for Preparatory Scholarship selectees provided they meet the following requirements:

  • Be a United States citizen or become a citizen by the end of the preparatory year
  • Complete a course load minimum of 12 hours per semester during the preparatory year
  • Upon completion of the preparatory year, declare an engineering or math/science major (Tier 1 or Tier 2)
  • Complete the preparatory year with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8
  • Pass a Navy Physical Fitness assessment
  • Receive a favorable recommendation from the Commanding Officer

Applicants must complete both a University of Missouri application and the NROTC Preparatory Program Application by May 15 of each year.

Complete the forms listed below including the Application Fitness Assessment. Once all forms are completed and scanned into an electronic format (PDF), email Jacob.Hyzer@missouri.edu and he will provide a link for a secure upload.
