MU Licenses Patented Screening Technology for Autism

From the Office of Research and Economic Development Gary Yao, professor of biomedical, biological and chemical engineering, and Judith Miles, professor emerita of child health and genetics, may soon see their pupillary light reflex technology in pediatrician offices thanks to a licensing agreement with Kansas City company PANDA Healthcare Technologies. Autism spectrum disorders (ASD), which can cause social, behavioral and communication challenges, often are diagnosed after a lengthy and often subjective assessment process.
