Two computer science faculty members tabbed for expert comment

A pair of computer science faculty members recently were called upon for expert comment by several media outlets. Assistant Professor Prasad Calyam was quoted in several stories dealing with distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on the websites of the City of Columbia and KOMU TV, and Associate Professor Kannappan Palaniappan was quoted in a pair of stories dealing with the use of drones for image detection and mapping.

IBM partnering with MU to prepare students for Big Data careers

IBM announced that it will partner with 28 schools and universities, including the University of Missouri, to help prepare students for the predicted 4.4 million jobs expected to be created worldwide by 2015 in support of Big Data.
