STEM Quest: Engineering Foundations

Dates: July 22-26, 2024

STEM Quest is a summer camp designed for students in grades 9-12 who are interested in engineering and need to strengthen competences in foundational courses such as math, physics and chemistry.

Instructors Needed

Faculty and graduate students are needed to serve as instructors for the STEM Quest camp. Instructors will lead a half-day experiential session from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. These sessions should focus on core competences and prepare students to continue engineering education.

A $250 stipend will be provided for each half-day session, and instructors will receive lunch and Mizzou Engineering swag.

Instructors should plan to attend a preparation meeting at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 15.

Chaperones Needed

Undergraduate students are needed to serve as chaperones for the STEM Quest camp. Chaperones will supervise and assist with camp activities, including walking participants to various locations on campus, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week, with some evening activities.

Chaperones will receive a stipend of $1,250 for the week, as well as meals and Mizzou Engineering swag, and stay in single-room accommodations in residence halls with camp participants.

Chaperones must be 21 or older by the first day of the camp, and a background check and training are required.

Selected chaperones should plan to attend preparation meetings at 4 p.m. Monday, April 29, in Lafferre W1042 and at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, in Lafferre W1042.
