Construction Management Leadership Institute helps professionals hone skills

Just a few years after graduating from Mizzou Engineering, Joe Modica is already climbing the leadership ladder, now serving as an assistant project manager at Nabholz Corporation. So when he saw an opportunity to expand upon his engineering and leadership skills at Mizzou, he seized the opportunity. Now, Modica is one of 36 professionals who successfully completed the inaugural Construction Management Leadership Institute, a three-day intensive training for civil engineers and construction professionals.

Mizzou Engineers connect with employers, find careers and internships at spring career fair

Over 870 students spoke with 470 employer representatives at the Mizzou Engineering Spring 2024 Career Fair. Engineers in all stages in their professional journey, whether they were looking to explore career options or to land interviews for summer internships and post-graduation jobs, converged at Mizzou Recreation Complex. Students at the career fair shared why they attended and described their dream career in engineering. Hear from ten of them.

Community service proves life-changing for Mizzou Engineering STEM Scholars

Want to see engineering coursework come to life? Need a way to release stress and anxiety? Want to transform your life? Get involved in community service. That’s what a group of Mizzou Engineering students have learned as part of the STEM Scholars. The program, funded by the National Science Foundation, is a holistic scholarship that includes not only academic support but also one-on-one mentoring and volunteer opportunities. STEM Scholars have packaged food at The Food Bank, picked up trash along the Missouri River and, this fall, painted the interior of a house for Habitat for Humanity.
