Seo Kangwon

Kangwon Seo is an assistant professor in the departments of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Statistics (joint) at the University of Missouri. He joined MU in 2017 after he obtained his PhD at Arizona State University. His research mainly focuses on industrial quality and reliability data modeling and analysis, failure detection and prediction, optimal experimental designs, and prognostics and health management. The research methodologies include statistical-model based approaches by using generalized linear mixed models, Bayesian analysis, simulations and optimization, dimension reduction and other statistical learning/machine learning techniques. He is teaching the design and analysis of engineering experiments, probability and statistics, and multivariate data analysis.
