As a child, Mark Magnante was interested in everything related to space. Growing up in California, movies were also a huge part of his childhood and influenced him greatly. A senior in mechanical and aerospace engineering, Magnante’s enthusiasm for space travel and transportation propelled him to being awarded the 2020 Space Transportation Scholarship from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Scholarship Covers Expenses for Cyber Security Education
There’s a scholarship for students who want to study graduate-level cyber security at Mizzou Engineering. It fully covers tuition and fees with a $34,000 annual stipend. It includes a $9,000 per year professional development fund for books, computing equipment, training, conference travel and even health insurance. And graduates are practically guaranteed a high-paying job.

Two receive Department of Energy scholarships
Two Mizzou Engineering students made history this week when they were awarded prestigious national scholarships from the U.S. Department of Energy. Mark Korol and Dylan Parham each received $7,500 from the department’s Office of Nuclear Energy’s Integrated University Program.

Students Recognized for Work Ethic
Hard work is paying off for more than a dozen MU students employed by Campus Dining Services, all of whom have been awarded scholarships for the spring 2020 semester. Campus Dining Services held its annual Student Employee of the Year Scholarship Contest last fall, and 14 students were selected by their management teams for the honor based on their reliability, quality of work, initiative, teamwork and contribution to their employer.

The MU College of Engineering has awarded 547 students more than $1.2 million in scholarships for the current academic year. The recipients had an opportunity to meet and mingle with the friends and faculty of the College who fund their scholarships at the annual scholarship dinner at Memorial Union.
