Mizzou researcher develops next-generation hydrogen sensors

A new University of Missouri researcher is developing next-generation sensors that could be key to using hydrogen as a clean energy source in the future.

The University of Missouri recently announced 12 recipients of the 2024 Award for Academic Distinction. It is one of the highest honors MU offers based on academic distinction alone. Two engineering students were among the honorees.

Honors College Senior Spotlight: Dane Walker

Through Project Lead the Way – a nonprofit organization that develops STEM curriculum for elementary, middle and high schools across the country – Dane Walker was introduced to a variety of scientific fields. The subject that clicked the most for Walker was engineering. When he made the decision to continue his education at the University of Missouri, he knew the College of Engineering was going to be the perfect fit.

Before coming to the University of Missouri, Amanuel Hailemariam had no experience with coding or software development. Now, he’s graduating with a bachelor’s in information technology (IT) and a resume packed with real-world programming experience.
