Where you belong: Mizzou Engineering ambassadors encourage others to choose Mizzou
Mizzou Engineering ambassadors are students who have loved their time at Mizzou so much that they choose to give back by representing the College. Each week, they lead tours of Lafferre Hall for future Tigers and their families. And throughout the semester they’ll take time on the weekends to speak with students and their families at Meet Mizzou Days or Mizzou Engineering events.

One of the largest celebrations on campus, Engineers’ Week at Mizzou allows students to embrace the College’s history while also honing their leadership skills as they host events for campus and the community. Boeing—a leading global aerospace company with a strong presence in the state—has received the 2024 Missouri Honor Award, the highest honor bestowed by the College of Engineering.
Mizzou Engineer leads synthesis to study safety roadway countermeasures
A Mizzou Engineer is leading a project to help determine what measures state departments of transportation (DOTs) are using to help keep motorists safe. Henry Brown, a research engineer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, is Principal Investigator on the synthesis, which is under the umbrella of the National Cooperative Highway Research Project (NCHRP). Findings are expected to be published by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine next year.
Construction Management Leadership Institute helps professionals hone skills
Just a few years after graduating from Mizzou Engineering, Joe Modica is already climbing the leadership ladder, now serving as an assistant project manager at Nabholz Corporation. So when he saw an opportunity to expand upon his engineering and leadership skills at Mizzou, he seized the opportunity. Now, Modica is one of 36 professionals who successfully completed the inaugural Construction Management Leadership Institute, a three-day intensive training for civil engineers and construction professionals.
Ph.D. student earns first in poster competition at CELDi research symposium
Pyam Oveys, a Ph.D. student in industrial engineering, took first place in the poster competition at the Center for Excellence in Logistics and Distribution (CELDi) Annual Meeting and Research Symposium held Feb. 29-March 1 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Oveys is working as a graduate research assistant for a sponsored research project with Trinity Products, which is being led by MU faculty members
