Three Mizzou Engineers have made it into the final round of the Entrepreneur Quest (EQ) Competition and are getting ready to compete for up to $15,000 from a prize pool to turn their ideas into viable businesses.

Ma honored with Progress in Entrepreneurship Award; Calyam nominated in education category
Curators Professor Hongbin “Bill” Ma, chair of mechanical and aerospace engineering, was honored with the 2022 Progress in Entrepreneurship Award from the Columbia Missourian this week.

Grant Proposal Designed to Elevate Women in Tech-Based Ventures
A collaboration between the College of Engineering and the Trulaske College of Business seeks to increase the number of women entrepreneurs leading technology-based companies. COE Associate Professor Heather Hunt and Assistant Professor Ferris Pfeiffer teamed up with Annette Kendall, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Trulaske College of Business, to apply for a faculty grant from VentureWell, which “supports faculty in developing programs that cultivate student innovators and promote institutional change.”

Four Entrepreneur Quest finalists powered by Engineers
Mizzou Engineers aren’t just technically proficient; many of them have an entrepreneurial spirit and the skills to create great products and companies. Four of the 10 teams at Tuesday’s Entrepreneur Quest Student Accelerator event, powered by the UM System, featured Engineering students.
